History
AMD RAYEE is a family run business passed down from father to son.
1952 - Maurice Rayée, then 14 years old, starts working at the local radiator repair business.
1968 - Didier Rayée, Maurice’s son is born.
1979 - Maurice sets up his own business M. RAYEE Autoradiatoren, located in the house next door to where he lives in Wondelgem, Ghent. The company thrives, giving customers a quick and reliable service at competitive prices. Didier, aged 11, helps his Dad after school, during the weekend and holidays to learn his father’s craft.
1998 - After 46 years in the trade, Maurice decides to retire. Didier takes over the family business and, with a nod to his father’s years of expertise, rebrands the company AMD RAYEE. AMD synonymus with Autoradiatoren Maurice Didier.
2005 - AMD RAYEE launches its first website. Being one of the first radiator repairers in Belgium to do so, allows us to claim the domain name autoradiatoren.be.
2007 - The workshop in Wondelgem is too small for the industrial radiators and amount of stock needed, so AMD RAYEE moves to Lovendegem and into a bigger and better location on the N9 main road between Ghent and Eeklo.
2008 - Investment in a automatic airco gas recharge machine adds an additional service we can provide to customers requiring automotive airco parts.
2013 - AMD RAYEE takes over the only other Ghent competitior in Airco & Radiatoren Centrum which was established in 1987 and based on Neuseplein. The welder from there, originally trained by Maurice Rayée joins the AMD team. Katharine, Didier’s wife, also completes the team in Lovendegem. Maurice passes away unexpectedly the same year.
2016 - Business is going well and the workshop in Lovendegem is again getting snug, AMD Rayée branches out into the adjoining workshop which gives some much needed office and stock space.
2017 - The welder from ARC retires.
2020 - The year of the mask 😷 but COVID-19 doesn’t dampen our spirits and we remain open throughout the lockdown, providing our customers with a full range of services for both copper and aluminium radiators, intercoolers and oil coolers.
